ServiceMaster Restore is proud to be the Diamond sponsor of the 2016 Scotties Tournament of Hearts (STOH) taking place from February 20th to the 28th, 2016 at Revolution Place in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The first tournament was held in Regina, Saskatchewan 35 years ago and since then the championship has been hosted in cities all across Canada.
Stephan Roy, National Director of ServiceMaster Restore commented, "We are thrilled to be part of this truly great event, supporting a pastime that is a fabric of Canadian sport and culture. Our involvement with the world curling championships over the past few years has helped us understand the passion for the game. We are excited to be a major sponsor and have our brand associated with the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.”
Leading up to the tournament, provincial and territorial championship games will be held across Canada to determine who will advance to the Scotties. These winning teams will join Team Canada, the defending champions, for a nine day competition in a battle for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts title and the Canadian Women's Curling Championship. “We want to wish all the teams competing in the event the best of luck, and thank all the countless volunteers for their commitment and support to make this a successful championship.” Roy added.
The winner of the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts is Team Jennifer Jones from Manitoba. Team Canada is a much sought after prize as it means an automatic spot in next year’s National Women’s Curling Championship.
Known so well by Canadians, the STOH logo reflects the support and dedication that every curling team brings to the rink. A blue ring encircles the distinctive four red hearts that represent each member of the team and how they work together to achieve their goals.
With approximately one million active curlers, it’s one of the largest amateur sports in Canada. ServiceMaster Restore is proud to support one of our country’s favourite winter sports and the 35th year of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
