The Weather Network has just released their official forecast for the Summer of 2021. Meteorologist, Dr. Doug Gillham, predicts above normal and near normal temperatures across Canada with more than the typical number of sunny days. In the Western provinces, drought conditions are a major concern for agricultural regions, along with a heightened risk for wildfires and poor air quality. In the Atlantic, a very warm and occasionally stormy summer is expected with a very active hurricane season. The area of greatest uncertainty for whether is Ontario. The province could benefit from the hot weather from the prairies, but numerous models highlight the potential for periods of cooler weather in July and August.
